Our Founder: Vernon King
Nationally renowned father, speaker, entrepreneur, certified counselor, licensed minister, and educator Vernon King Jr. is a fun, energetic and engaging motivator.
Vernon founded the Motivating Youth Company in 2009, a few years after realizing at the age of 16 that is was the positive influence surrounding him that encouraged him to set goals and never give up on his destiny. Vernon changed the way he decided to lead and became a positive role model for those around him. Vernon, as the Senior Class President of Duncanville High School in 2009, had the opportunity to travel to the local schools and high schools encouraging student to do their best everyday. This is what lead to The Motivating Youth Company.
The Motivating Youth Company has provided educational services for more than 700,000 kids, teens & young adults across the nation. Today Vernon serves as founder of the Motivating Youth Company.

Director: Gerald Mitchell
Gerald has been the director of Motivating Youth since 2016. Originally from Dallas, Tx earning his bachelors from AMDA in 2014. Gerald is a loving husband and proud father of 3 super energetic and fun kids.
Accounting & Contracts: Ashley A. Cobb
Ashley was born in Kansas, graduating from Beloit High School. In 2014 Ashley obtained Her bachelors from Fort Hays State University! Ashley has been with the motivating youth company for 7 years! Starting off as an office assistant to her current role as account and contract manager. In 2017 Ashley received an award winning administrative award from the who’s who’s business professionals organization.
Grant Specialist: Benny Tucker
Benny specialized in grant writing and has successfully gotten over $600,000 over the last 9 years approved in grants to fund the programs and services that Motivating youth offers! Benny was born and raised in Dallas, TX, graduating from the university of Ohio with a degree in finance and a minor in business management.
University connect and Intern liaison: Lexi Smith
Lexi smith joined the MYC team as an intern in 2014. Originally born in Kansas, and and education graduate from Fort Hays State, in Hays, Kansas. Lexi oversees 40 interns each year who studies in education, social work and psychology.
Lead therapist & Support Placement: Henrietta Davenport
Henrietta joined the MYC team in 2020 during one of the most challenging times for families. She is a licensed professional Psychotherapist and the lead support placement. In 2016 Henrietta won a state award for her outstanding therapy strategic methods.
Social Media and Website: Naomi Grace
Naomi joined the MYC team in 2016 overseeing the company website and social media pages. Naomi's has a bachelors in communications, public relations. Her hobbies are swimming and going to the movies. Naomi won a national award through the who's who chapter for innovated social media research methods in 2014.
Boys Mentorship Connect: Danny Won
Danny joined the MYC team in 2019, serving as the boys mentorship connect. Danny has connected over 100+ boys through the MYC mentorship program with mentors that specifically fits their personality and behavior traits. Danny was a product of the big brothers big sister program when he was a teen and loves giving back in a similar way with his role at The Motivating Youth Company.
Girls Mentorship Connect: Stephanie Herod
Stephanie joined the MYC team in 2023 as the lead girls mentorship connect for the greater Dallas area. Stephanie's has a bachelors in social work and loves her role connecting teen girls with mentors that best fits their personality and behavior patters to impact their future development.
